im having a few thoughts here

my current pc is win 7, 8320 fx, and gtx 660. for now, the system works no issues. im happy with what it does. but im thinking ahead and learning to do video editing, which probably means windows 10? not sure. I dont plan to use adobe. not a fan of the company.

a few things
-ive never used amd gpu ,only because there always seemed to be drivers complaints in posts on forums. but I want to support the underdog. also physx was hyped and compatability propoganda on forums brainwashed me that nvidia is superior. I can see clearly now. physx is overhyped. well done nvidia.

-im curious if the amd driver also has telemtry tracking software like nvidia? I have blocked all telemetry from nvidia. I dont care for their "experience" software. I wonder if its possible with amd since the packages are hundreds of MB. I was able to find a small package only for the gpu driver vs the 350mb one which had the nvidia experience garbage inside. not a fan of nvidia the last few years.

-I feel I may have no choice but to make this editing pc windows 10 for specific program support or is there another way to run programs not supported on windows 7? If I have no choice but use w10, it will not be connected to the internet. it will simply be for editing and nothing else. all offline.

on another note, and the reason I dont like w10 is the forced updates . in the time you are working, it forces shutdowns without me having a choice. this is unacceptble to me. no compromise on this at all. no excuses at all. I upload files to my clinets many times and they are big files and I cannot be bothered with updates when windows decides so. the telemtry is another. ive used tons of programs and tweaking to block all on my win 7 setup. im curious if there is a way to block it all, which I doubt.

Seeing as there have been no other responses to your query, reading between the lines it sounds as though you should look into running Windows 10 on a Virtual Machine - there are plenty of guides on how to do this. I cannot guarantee the performance will be great if you plan to do video editing in one but it is at least an option to consider.
