I noticed my Graphic Card temp raised to 93C while Playing GTAIV. 66 at Idle. I installed Rivatuner and increased fan speed did some Overclocking by increasing core by 50, After that I saw Graphic Card temp kept on increasing every second upto 120C. Restored Default values. no changes. Now it's dead, PC won't start wuth GFX card inserted. Any way to fix?

It's History of Problems

Thanks

PS: I wonder if Oven Method will work?

Uhm... No... Oven Method is just a sure fire way of not only making it even less workable, but also a possible toxic fire hazard.

Also, if your card is running hot BEFORE, you really shouldn't up the fan speed and the core speed. If you don't know what you are doing, or making sure your system is fairly frigid inside to keep the card temp down, you really shouldn't be messing with the core speed what so ever.

Actually I read that Increasing Fan speed will help in maintaing temp. I increased fan speed first and it gave no changes, then I did core.

increasing the fan speed may have helped with cooling, but why on earth did you overclock it!? overclocking creates heat faster and hotter!

Its like driving a car with a dodgy radiator, and then emptying the water out of it!

Id have taken the card out, checked it wasnt full of dust, given it a clean, checked my case's airflow to the card wasnt restricted and then start windows in safe mode, and see if the card would heat up at idle with no background processes.

Overclocking was just for fun to run game more smoothly, but I didn't exceed limit that it should damage my GFX Card. I did read all instructing before overclocking. I guess temp problem was way before I did clock as stated above. I did all that you said even before downloading Rivatuner but nothing changed.

Also Applying thermal paste will help?

At this point if PC refuses to boot, its likely that you killed the video card. As others have questioned, if you had heat issues, what in the world possessed you to overclock an already hot card?

On a different note, vid cards have dropped drastically in price, performance is through the roof, and your games will finally run smoother!:geek:
