Solved Graphics Card Opinion

[PSCO2007]

I'm not a gamer (yet) mainly because I don't have the sufficient hardware.

I'm thinking of this card and would like any opinions (pro or con).

I would advise you to spend some more, you will get into a much nicer tier of performance.

You have a good CPU and chipset for gaming, also.

Here is what I use compared to that card class as an example:

That 650ti is a bare minimum card for a gamer now, imho.

AMD wise, the bare minimum card is the newer 7790, about the same as that 650Ti.

If stuck on the 650 class though, here is a cheaper one than your OP:

Plus smaller footprint, shouldn't have a fitting in the case issue, my 7950 is an MSI, I have no problem recommending them.

Superclocked and OC are marketing magic, the increases are not huge over a stock clocked card, I wish they would quit the lies. It tells me that the sample though was top notch or it would just be a regular.

Yup, Radeon HD 78xx on up is preferred, since it begins the 256-bit memory interface architecture which is a nice boost to gaming performance vs the 77xx.

So, this card would be better than the one I referenced?

AMD have the best priced cards these days....they definitely get the bang for the buck award. There is nothing wrong with the GTX 650Ti Boost though. What kind of games do you have in mind? If you want a card to play any game out there @1080p with settings maxed out, you may want something better. If you just want to play a handful of games that aren't the most demanding out there, a mid range card will do you fine.

Budget would help, A 660 or above would include post number 3 which is a very good card

Looked at the Nvidia, but the second review said it did not work with Asus p8z77-v (which is mine)

Either user error or bad card. There is no reason a current video card shouldn't work with a current motherboard/chipset.

Price will be similar. The 760's I think will have better memory bandwidth and all the little bells and whistles the new line of cards have. If they are going to be out in a few weeks, I'd wait as well.
