Graphics designers recommend me a mouse.

So I need to find a mouse for graphics work, but with some pretty specific features:

1. Needs to scroll horizontally and vertically in CorelDraw + Photoshop. Prefer 2 wheels.
2. Need a thumb button, programmable, because I need to use that button to delete objects. I would prefer the thumb button to be about mid-height and not on top like most mouse buttons.

What I have tried:

A LOT of mice. Logitech's mice don't scroll horizontally in Corel even though the options are configured in Setpoint.

I have done hours and hours of search, I'd gladly pay the person who finds me this mouse. Thnx for looking into is.

To be specific for a 2 button programmable with one or two scroll wheels most would simply see a single scroll wheel from the start. You can actually find 3 button programmable much faster. The best search for 2button programmable mice are seen in the results. programmable mouse 2 button - Bing shopping

I was looking at the 5 button Wireless Optical Trackman mouse by Logitech some time back being a programmable and cordless model as well with the thumb button. The scroll wheel is right above the left click you can program as well. Logitech Wireless Trackball mouse - Ergonomic Trackball Mouse

That was discontinued about 4yrs. back and might be found on EBay. Different programmable mice also see different options for what can be assigned to a specific button. Thanks Hawk. Those mice are mostly not what I'm after. It Does look like no one is making 2 wheeled mice any more AND most of the mice out there with tilt wheels actually do not do that well in their scrolling capacities, e.g, scrolling horizontally is problematic in its application and ergonomics. Track balls are not what I'm after b/c they're clumsy and heavy.

The 3 button mice are actually two main buttons with the scroll wheel serving a dual purpose as a button as well. When surfing for a model with two buttons and a 3rd wheel button this is the term to use.

Thumb click instead of right or left index finger clicking models are the harder to find as a rule since there isn't really that many to choose from. Logitech has a two button with trackball using a right thumb click but isn't a programmable model the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackman® Marble®
No scroll wheel there however.

The MS Intellipoint software includes the Flip3D as one of the options for their programmable models with both the Vista and 7 versions of the mouse software. Out of the entire list the closest to what you are looking for would be the Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 model with 4 way scrolling and customizable buttons for both right and left hand use. With the 4 way scroll the scroll wheel is actually more like two buttons.

I'm using a logitech G9 at home and a bog standard wireless laser logitech at work and I use CorelDraw. From what I've read the problem lies within CorelDraw itself. If you use the setpoint 4.60 and below drivers (left/right ... using the tilt wheel) (up/down ... using the scroll wheel) works on 4 of my PC's using Corel. If I use the latest drivers (newer than 4.60) then there are major problems (tested with XP, Vista and Win7) ie. (image disappears when you zoom in and out ... and so on)
One thing I do to get past this problem is to push down on the "scroll wheel" (gives you a 4 way arrow) this then lets me pan around the page freely. Alternatively you could also use the pan feature built in to corelDraw (see pic)

Program design flaws certainly won't help any! You can have the ideal mouse but end up being hampered by the software!

Thanks guys. I'll give setpoint 4.6 a try. That 4 way scroll from MS sounds pretty good too.
