@ Chuck this is also very good at removing backgrounds down to one pixel at a time.

Great for adjusting .gif file timing and resizing them but otherwise I never got into anything else
Last time I used it it turned a transparent background gif into one with a black ground = uninstalled after that blunder new version update :/
Used to be very good though.

That's what it's called! I knew there was another editor I used when I had my HP, but I couldn't remember what it was called!

As with any GFX Software Keith its just practice, you already have all the skill , first time I opened CS4 i thought WTF ! being used to PDN

I mainly use the eraser tool. It's nice to be able to erase one pixel at a time.

As far as I know gimp does that too,
Just zoom in and lower the size of the eraser tool it will be a square box usually the size of the pixels,
View/ show pixel grid.

It also has Select By Color I always liked that one

Don't give up on gimp Chuck it has many cool features in one place,
People choose different programs to use for many reasons,
The trick is to concentrate on one and ask questions about it or research the function
