Recently we had a power failure in our area, and it seems it altered the graphix on my computer, everything now looks a lot bigger and different than before
the resolution is set at the same size (1440x900)
Ive tried:
reinstalling the ati drivers for the card, no use
Ive tried resetting all settings to 3 days earlier, no use
Ive tried several things with the graphical settings, but all in vain
device control, not sure how 2 say it in english, says my monitor and graphical card are both working without problems

I use windows 7 64 bit, with radeon 5770 videocard, and Acer S243 HLbmii monitor

is there anyone who knows what I can do 2 fix this?

The Acer S243 is a Full HD monitor connected with HDMI, so you should be at the native resolution of 1920x1080x60. If this gives black borders then go into CCC - Desktop & Displays - Click small HDTV at the bottom - Configure - Scaling - Overscan/Underscan - set to 0%

have you tried changing the refresh rate? i know if mine is set lower than 60hz, everything looks "thicker" (for lack of a better word).

You can try to install it this way. Go to device manager>update driver software>browse my computer>let me choose> have disk>browse to where the .inf file is then click or double click on the .inf file and see if it will install from their.
I usually will DL the driver to my desktop>unpack if needed> then stop. And start from the device manger then.

Ive tried installing it that way, but it still says there's no newer software in that folder, I dont think the refresh rate makes any different, just need 2 find a way 2 get it on 1920x1080 but dunno how >_<

it says general non-PnP-monitor btw, is it suppose 2?

in my acer display management menu, the sections "change" and "color" are blank, dunno if that's right either

I realize this thread is old and may not be replied to but...If device manager is not reporting your display as what is you need to check with the manufacters web site and see if they have a driver for it(.inf file) this will allow Windows to dectect your display properly and thus allowing you full access to your displays native resolution.
