Green line down the screen with my GPU

Iv got a 8800GTX and iv got a green line starting to run down the screen. I spoke to some one who said there was a program that i could download to turn up the speed of the fan on the card as it might be over heating. But if im honest I didnt take to much of what he said in at the time. Any one know what he might have ment??

Sure, download a copy of Speedfan and post some temps. You probably don't want to be much above 100C.
