i've always had issues installing windows 7, the first time i used it i had this problem http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/35505-windows-7-installation-cannot-find-drivers.html i never fixed that problem.. but i dont know if i mentioned on that thread that i can install a clean install while Vista is running but cant do that option because i wanted to upgrade to 64bit to use my full 6 gigs.. i eventually gave up and bought a new hard drive (1 TerraByte!!!
) but i still had the problem so i settled with vista 64bit.
i recently realized i could install windows 7 64bit on it while it was running, bypassing the boot from disc problem and so i have.. but once i put my driver discs in to install for my graphics card/other devices i noticed i couldnt use the disc drive anymore (windows7 cant locate it, including the device manager).. i got my old hard drive still connected and the drive works just fine on it..
i've spent hours googling fixes but none seem to work.. this page Windows 7 DVD Drive Not Working Problem Missing Disappeared Error Gone Not Found Not Recognized in x64 and x86 | Capitalhead.com
shows the main methods i've seen so far and none seem to fix the problem
i'm about to beat windows 7 and its install disc into oblivion Literally i'm so pissed.. again the disc drive model is GSA-H40N and its from LG i think.. LG electronics? i'm not sure.. and my computer model is GT5628 if i remember right.
Please help, just give me a hand here
