Reinstalled Windows 7 with no keyboard & no disc drive, now stuck...
Sorry if the title is a bit vague, and I'm sorry if I'm not posting in the right place but I'm stuck in a bit of an odd position.
My dell laptop has been slowing down for a while now, so I decided to take it apart and give it a clean out and to reinstall windows. I've had it apart many times before with no problems and reinstalled windows on it before just fine. This time after putting it together again I believe the keyboard wasn't being read properly (I know this now I've already reinstalled windows.. not before...)
The disc drive doesn't work so I've been using an external disc drive for a while, again, no problems usually, even with installing windows from it. So I put in my win7 disc and let it do it's thing, and I now have a fresh copy of win 7, with no added drivers.
I have the disc for the drivers and the list of drivers I normally install, but I'm not able to use it because this time round it's not reading the external disc drive(trying to force a driver update responds with error 31). This means I can't connect to any networks to run windows update either. I also cannot reach the boot settings when it's turning on because the keyboard's not responding.
On a side note about the keyboard if it helps... The keyboard is backlit and it's permanently lit whilst it's on, so I guess it's getting power, just not reading the keys?
I hope someone can help, thanks in advance,
Jack
