Hi. My
GIGABYTE - Graphics Card - NVIDIA - PCI Express Solution - GeForce 9 series - GV-N98TSL-1GI
is failing. I have multiple monitors and have tried it on another and it is actually worse, the monitor shuts on and off and also goes to grey sparkles.
The card is the issue and I think it has a 3 year warranty so I will return it for repair / replacement. What I need from our team of experts is a recommendation for a replacement. My other main machine has a Radeon 6770
GIGABYTE - Graphics Card - ATI - PCI Express Solution - Radeon HD 6000 series - GV-R677SL-1GD
I don't have to have a silent one but something to best both of them would be preferable. I have up to $150 maximum. If I go with a Radeon card I have 3 Windows OS and Linux Mint 14 to reconfigure. Is it still a royal PIA to go from Nvidia drivers to AMD drivers? I don't want to have to do multiple reinstall of OS just for a slight increase in performance. Less noise is more important. I'll most likely be getting the card from New Egg then climbing around in the loft for the box to ship the bad card back in. :haha: When I get the card back repaired that will go in the Home Theater PC which uses on board at the moment.
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
