GTA IV patch 1.0.6.0 & patch 7 install errors

ive recently had to re-install GTA Iv and now the patches wont install!, i keep getting this error message:-

yea tried that and set the compatability to vista/xp..
1 thing i dont understand is i installed Episodes from Liberty City and the patch for that install perfectly so i dont understand why the 1 for GTA IV wont work!!
