Millions of gamers have snatched up copies of Grand Theft Auto V since its release last month — enough to break seven world records, in fact — but many vocal PC gaming purists are holding out for a PC version of the wildly popular new title. Rockstar took several months to put out a PC version of GTA IV, and despite continuously reaffirming that there are no current plans to bring GTA V to the PC, multiple sources have informed Eurogamer that the $1 billion game will make its way to the computer “in the first quarter of 2014.”

I would be extremely surprised if it didn't come to PC eventually. Aside from Red Dead Redemption, all other major R* titles have made it to PC. Finacially though, R* could afford to not port it. After all, consoles are the priority and they've made an absolute bucket load already.

In PR speak - "no plans" equals they're most likely working on it, but it's still a realistic possibility of any PC development being cancelled.

It could also be considered a marketing ploy aimed at gamers like "me" - With no definitive answers, gamers will buy the console version because they either don't want to wait or don't want to miss out "just in case". If R* confirmed a PC version in the works, quite a few people would choose to wait. By not confirming, R* gets to double dip. Buy the console version first, then the PC version later.

I knew it would come to PC at some point.
Unfortunately they way they released it is a smart business move, to put it out now to catch the current gen. consoles. Then when the new gen come out they will catch some of the "waiters" and also get the people that will "upgrade". As for the PC, Well the ones that couldn't/can't wait they caught with the consoles but they know PC gamers will want it on a PC. So they will most likely get a double sales on at least 50% of PC gamers. The other % will just wait for the PC release(Me).

they broke 7 world records with the release of that game on the first day. including 8 BILLION (with a B) DOLLARS on the DAY of release!

I think if Rockstar want's to give us PC users a surprise later next year so they should announce it for PC already now as by telling and giving comments like "No Plans" or changing topics when it is asked when it'll come out to PC... they will reduce the PC version sales already for future as many of the GTA hardcore fans will either quit or stop hope for it and buy a console version and play it or buy a new console and gta v along with it... :O

Xone isn't backwards compatible with the 360 and while possible, it's not likely to happen. So buying a next gen console wont work as the current 360 copy wont work with the xone. Not sure about the PS4.

R* claim there are 'no plans' for a xone version either.


Personally I'm not that fussed. It gives me an excuse to dust off the 360 and I've had the pleasure of playing it already.
