Solved GTA4 wont load a saved game

Over the summer I played GTA4 more than half way thru. At some point I believe I deleted a lot of files because of a space problem. Recently, I found I had to reinstall the game. I installed xliveless and patch 7. The game boots and I can run it fine until it saves. Once it saves and I exit, it wont load the saved game...just sits there with a blank screen. If I delete the save (SGTA412), it will start again from the very beginning. I've done my due diligence but found nothing that would resolve this.

Additionally, I've saved my old SGTA4* files with the hope that eventually I can load them from where I left off. I'd really like to play the game and not have to wait for GTA5 PC (and hopefully not go thru this installation nightmare ever again).

Fixed. I had to run the MSGFW twice before booting the game. Once I did that, it worked like it supposed to. Amazing how many MS products can cause so much grief. Fortunately, MS ditched this POS.
