I have GTX 260 and Windows 7 home 64 b, and Windows Experience Index is just 2.0.
It's because of Gaming graphics is 2.0.
All other indexes:
Processor 7.5
Memory 7.5
Graphics 5.9
Primary hard disk 5.9

Anyone have an idea why Gaming graphics is so low?
How to increase this index to any higher value?

P.S.
Also have some problems with PC. Here is the tread's link:

Hi Punkbull. Welcome to Seven Forums:)

I have a very similar rig to you, and a 260 GPU, and I'm getting 7.3 for both my graphics and gaming graphics scores.

I have just installed beta drivers 197.13 but I know that hasn't made any difference to my scores-they've remained at 7.3 through numerous driver updates in the 6 months since I built the rig.

Seems strange. Not sure what's wrong there.

ps. it says in my specs that I'm running my i7 at 4Ghz. Currently I'm at stock speed which gives me 7.7 on the WEI. Like everyone else my PHD keeps me at 5.9.

I would also use GPU-Z to make sure your card is running properly. The card might have a hardware defect that is making it run slower than it should. Are you noticing any slowness with the card or problem when running games?

I have 196.21 drivers.
I haven't tried lot of games, only GTA IV, NBA 2k10 and Assassin's Creed (AC)
During GTA IV and AC sometimes GPU works really noise and
sometimes I got error that program stopped working properly.
In NBA there is no errors and GPU works fine (but the game it self isn't very difficult for the GPU)

Thorsen: I installed GPU-Z. How it can tell me, that something is wrong with GPU ?

I don't think it can. As far as I'm aware it just give the intricate details of your chip/card.

I wouldn't read too much into the wei, I've seen scores vary quite considerably for the same card.

WEI = pinch of salt.

Look online at the specs for you card and compare them to the speeds and Ram amounts in GPU-Z

Specs for card are here:

GeForce GTX 260

This is the Nvidia specs though. depending on the Manufacturer they might be different. If you can, post a screenshot of the GPU-Z screens in this thread or post the name, and model of the card from the GPU-Z screen

Are you using anything to keep a check on your temperatures and control fan speed?
If not try this:

download from Guru3D.com

It enables you to set profiles for gaming. For example I have my 260 at 50% fan speed for normal browsing and it idles in the late 40s c.
For gaming I have it at 75% fan speed or higher depending on game etc.
I have it on from startup so I can check my temps at any time. I also have Core Temp running in the task bar which tells me how hot my CPU is. I have a thing about temps.
You can also use this utility to overclock your GPU but I wouldn't as it sounds like you have a problem as it is.
You say that the fan gets very noisy sometimes. That's the fan speed going up as the card works harder and it can get a bit intrusive.
What happens when it crashes. Do you get a blue screen?

Best wishes, John:)

..And yes, drivers could really affect your WEI. Do what everyone else said: check your drivers and hardware.

For me every thing looks fine.

John: i'll try to use that and see what i'll get with it, but WEI would change i thing.
My GPU isn't overclocked, coz i don't know what it is 'overclock'. :(
IF the game crashes there is no bluescreens,
but earlier before my PSU got burned, bluescreens got if the game freezes
or even during browsing internet or even doing nothing.
But bluescreen problem is solved, i thing :|

How correctly install driver for GPU ?
IF i remove everything, after reboot Windows 7 finds basic driver or somthing.
And after that i install 196.21 drivers. Is that correct ?

The proper way to do this is to download and install:

Driver Sweeper:Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Then go to control panel/programs and features.

Uninstall Nvidia drivers.

Do a "hard" shutdown-press the power button for a few seconds and your pc will shutdown.

Restart and you will get a choice whether to restart as normal-choose safe mode.

When you are in safe mode ( poor resolution is a giveaway) run Driver Sweeper and get rid of any last bits of Nvidia stuff.

Reboot into normal mode and download the Nvidia drivers from the link at the top of this forum section:

Sticky: Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7 ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
Brink

There you will find that the latest recommended drivers for our cards are numbered 197.13

Follow the link and download the drivers for your OS (x86 or x64) to your desktop, open and install them.

The bit at the beginning is an extra precaution to ensure you have got rid of all the bits associated with your old driver.
I know a lot of people who don't bother with that any more and just download and install the new ones over the old ones. I don't and you can ignore that step but, given you have had problems with your drivers, it might be wise.

Hope this helps, John:)

Thank you John very very much.

It helped a lot.
Now my windows experience rating is 5.9 because of primary hard disk.
Graphics index increased to 7.2.
And the most important Gaming graphics index isn't 2.0 anymore. It's 7.2.
Now i believe that i have GTX 260. :D

Don't now if it's 197.13 driver, or just because it was installed correctly.
Most likely second option.
Thanks one more time John.
