Solved Windows not genuine and SkipRearm does not fix the problem

As the title says.I have tried SLMGR-Rearm.I have also tried SkipRearm and I tried RSOP but Windows says that it cant find rsop.msc and asks me to check that I typed it correctly ( its pretty hard to type rsop.msc and get it wrong.

I had this same problem about 2 weeks ago ( I posted in the Activation Thread ) The solution I was given worked,but obviously it has only worked for approx 2 weeks

please install kb971033.

REBOOT TWICE.


rerun the tool, the file missmatches and the Not Registered should be gone and the system should return to a genuine status.


note when we last spoke 4 years ago you were mulling over using Macrium, if you had a recent genuine status copy, you could have used that.

As Windows 7 is no longer supported where will I get the kb971033 update from ?
I have ( somewhere ) the full updates of Windows 7,should I install them If I cant get kb971033 ?

I tried to download the kb971033 update and got a 80072EFE error so I looked up on the net and was told to deleat the contents of the Windows\SoftwareDistrubition folder and try again.I did that but still couldent download the update.I then tried install installing windows7 SP1-kb976932-x64 to download the update package
which the complete update package for Windows7 but this package tries to install SP1 first,and as I already have SP1 installed it goes no further.What now ?

looks like MS really wanna kill W7, that Kb has been removed from the catalogue.

You will need to phone activate.
hit the Windows Key and R, from the run box type SLUI4, and follow the instructions.

DO NOT select any option from the given phone No:
WAIT for an operator.

Im busy nearly all day tomorrow so will try what you suggest on Tuesday.
One thing I dont understand though is.I bought the Windows 7 DVD about one year after Windows 7 came ou,In all that time I have had to do a few installs and every time the first thing I do is turn updates off,so why after all this time am I having trouble with my Windows 7 instilation.I mean I have been turning updates off for years ?!
One more thing.I managed to download all the updates for Windows 7 ( in one package ) should I try to install this first before getting in touch with MS ?

You should probably just run SLUI 4 on your system and follow the instructions on your screen first.

It is entirely free to activate Windows 7 and it only takes a few minutes.

Backup activation in case you need to reinstall. SEE HERE

Yep, backup your activation data then restore it. If you don't you will have to go do that activation call all over again.
