...i really had a big argument with my wife about that...2 rep point if you figure what this is for:
I know you are not joking. Had the same argument. My gear was banished to the basement as a result. I rarely win.

Do you have another pic of the gizmo? I cannot determine which end is I and which end is O.

You'll think i am joking, but i really had a big argument with my wife about that. I wanted to buy a camping fridge and install my motherboard in there. Seriously.

She shot the idea down threatening cruel and unusual punishment if i went ahead. Still doubting right now.

2 rep point if you figure what this is for:

Well, it's wired into the brushes and the gears are set to spin the motor the fastest. Is everything shown? To generate electicity??

If not, maybe a Derailleur tuner for somebody you know in the Tour de France?? LOL

I have no basement, else i'd be there now. I take my revenge in the way described in my other post http://www.sevenforums.com/chillout...miration-engineering-part-2-a.html#post190806. I can give you a list how to get your own back in a passive agressive way :devil2:

I wanted i new fixed phone, my wife thought the old one was good enough. 1.5 v for a few sec on the old phone's build in speaker made her change her mind. She caught on, but only after the new had arrived

close actually. My bathroom is where my evil genius is foremost.

Getting fed up with turning off the heater, the lights, the music after my family i linked everything to the door latch. Not latched no juice. But listening in the morning to rap music at 60W with speakers i'd installed to listen to Vivaldi made me install a hidden switch which switches the music from the stereo in my living room to a tiny transistor radio in the ceiling.

As my wife is has a complete OCD with standby lights (you the red leds as put your tv and such in standby) i installed high up ( my ceiling is 3.30m) a multicoloured led that has no off switch.

I'll show my anti blow the fuses by forgetful wife device tomorrow if you want :D

think the inverse

Let's see.... the inverse of generating electricity would be, um, er, ah...
First I would need to know whether you cut off the downtube with a hacksaw or a bandsaw.

It is not often that I confess befuddlement. I keep looking at the picture, wondering "Why?". Reel in the dog? The laundry? No. The function must have something to do with this...

Some time ago I installed a waste heat ejector on my system. It is teh awsome to have all that heat out of the room. Without it, recirculating waste heat raises the computer tempterature by several degrees as it keeps warming your space and being reingested.

I bought a normal ceiling box fan and a motor speed control switch (looks ike a dimmer switch). I put the fan on the floor under the desk on it's side and plenemed the opening to the back of my computer with cardboard and duct tape.

Then the output of the fan box is a 4in hose that goes to a 4 in duct pipe up through a book case and into the ceiling. It's compeltely invisible unless you realy look for it (Being surrounded by books).

Running the motor at half speed gently sucks the heat quietly away and up into the ceiling and my office is no longer a sauna on warm summer days The computer runs about 5C cooler inthe summer. In the winter I open the side of the plenem (hinged so I can get at the cabples and whatnot) and let the warm air blow under the desk like normal to help with the heating bill :D

its being overfed electricity?

:roflmao: it puts out .5 kw, or about half a horsepower. 1 horsepower is defined as pulling a weight of 75kg 1 meter up.

What would weigh enough you'd need that force, geared down a large ratio, in a winch on an attic?

The folding stairs! The attic folding stairs lower and rise by pushing a button.
However you shouldn't stand beneath them when lowering they tend the lower at a rather higher speed then they rise :)
