Here's what I get from Windows Update screenshots. hmmm.... after re-booting.

Thanks,
Uncheck Silverlight and the Outlook updates,
Leave ie11 unchecked as well and load them,
I'm bewildered as to why ie11 is in the Important update category,
Open ie and use Alt+HA or Gear symbol on the top right and About Internet explorer,
Uncheck Upload new version automatically also post the KB# which should be (2925418) and of course verify it say ie9,

Yes, I to am wondered why IE11 was in the Important Updates to begin with that caused all these probs.

The IE9 about pane does not have the "Install newer version box"

Still wonderful so far,
Out of the Optional updates feel free to load the Office ones if you wish too,
Lets change one setting first,
Gear symbol on the top right and Internet options,
Advanced section across the top,
Check the top box Use software rendering instead of gpu rendering,

Then lets go ahead and move up to ie10,

Don't know if I messed up, your previous post about showing some refence in Windows Update should show reference to IE9 in Important Updates? well it didn't. then I downloaded & installed IE10.

Your good you were showing the current version of ie9 via the KB#2925418
Which on ie10 you should still be showing the same KB#
Gear symbol/ About Internet explorer,
Is it now showing ie10 ?
Go back to Turn windows features on or off,
Does it now show ie10 as Checked instead of ie8 ?

Okay lets do something real quick,
Lets reset Internet explorer using this exact process,
Use the Start menu search tell me if everything goes as shown,
Reset process first opening Internet explorer
Do Not enable any add-ons as the popup is shown,
Immediately after click on No on the add-ons popup,
Hold the Alt key down and press the T key and then press the B key,
Or Menubar/ Tools/ Compatibility view settings,
Uncheck the box to Download comp-view lists from Microsoft/ And close the popup window.
Let me know when that's done,

about #34 TrashZone, sounds good, but I think I need more detailed info on the process, I'm just a newbie and a little slow. about->reset IE>using Start Menu? I will try and see how it goes.
BTW, I'm not a fan of Add-ons or Browser Helpers or any of that other stuff. I try and keep it simple, don't even want any of that MS Bing stuff.
So if you got any tips to pass on, greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

I've also found Alt+TB or Menubar/ Tools/ Compatibility view settings,

Uncheck Download comp-view lists from Microsoft automatically is a good thing to do/ except for Intranet leave Checked and of course Uncheck view all sites in comp-view. will help either version of ie.
Delete your Browser history to get rid of any prior downloaded Compatibility view lists already downloaded,
