Hello,

Have a look at my system spec.
I am running two monitors.
Primary = ACER AL2216W @ 1680x1050
Secondary = HP f1905e @ 1280x1024

I have always been aware of issues when using to different monitors with two different screen sizes / resolutions. While using XPpro from time to time on re-boot the secondary screen would be a mess or just black....another reboot would fix it. Now with Windows 7 I still have the odd issue w/ a re-boot but now once in a while the secondary screen just goes black during use. This does not happen very often but I thought I would ask if anybody has any reliable experience dealing with this. I would like to keep both monitors at their native resolution as it is quite helpful sometimes while doing web design.

thanks,

fmg

More info...

I noticed that the refresh rate for my primary monitor, the Acer is set at 59Hz?
I try via the Windows 7 desktop & NVIDIA control panel to select & save 60Hz but it will not stick?
No Windows x64 Vista or Seven driver available @ Acer site, just a few 32bit Vista versions?
Any thoughts?

I the monitor doesnt support 60hz, dont go there. It may damage the screen. Are you sure the card supports dual display?

What about lowering the HP to 59hz?
Might that help?
It does not offer that setting but I could do a custom one?

Just use the supported refresh rates. Check the "hide resolutions that are not compatible with my screen" tick. Your card should support those displays... Have you got any other OS's we could check it on, to eliminate hardware problems? If not, you can download a Ubuntu Live CD, and use it to check. No install needed.

I guess in the end its not enough of a problem to go that far.
I have heard it can happen if you have two different monitors setup (size/resolution).
I think I will just let it be & see what happens.
Is 59hz an odd setting?

You could try software that controls the screens.
