Hard disk - Admistrator, permission problem??? YEARS OF WORKS DELETED?

I have three internal hard drive
C: (Windows 7 x64 & Software)
E: (only photoshop picture)
F: (only music, video, company files based on my years of work)

Since the time I install windows 7,
There was always problem when saving or trying to delete a file.
Like photoshop was saying to me 'can't save the file because of admisnistrator permission'. So i needed to recreate a new files each time.

I tried on hard drive E: folder to right click and remove the 'read only' case and that have helped for the photoshop saving problem.

but all the other mini bug that tell me : can't save file because of admisnistrator permission, kept going...
So i search on google how to become the administrator and have total control over my files. this is the website I follow instruction from :

But I removed some user names in the permission and do not know how to add them or resolve this problem.

Now i can't completely access my E: drive AT ALL, neither C: drive at all
It write : E:/ Is not accessible Access is denied

Did I lost years of works or just can't access it ??

I used it to recover a lot of GBs of video on a defective drive, and was very happy with it.

EDIT: Rereading, I'm not certain that this would solve the permissions problem or not, so wait for someone else to chime in, before shelling out any money.

OK, it sure looks like and sounds like you have a permission issue going on. Open My Computer and Right Click drive E:, select properties, click on security, click advance, and then click on the owner tab. Click the edit button, Click on an administrator user (prefereably the admin user), and check the Replace owners option check box. Click apply and OK.

If this doesn't work, I would start thinking about booting up with a Winbuilder boot cd or a linux boot cd and try to save me important files somewhere else until you can resolve the drive issue. Hope this helps...

Before you mess things up, you could try UBCD4Win

UBCD for Windows it contains many tools like -Explorers and you can check to see if the files are there etc.

I just recovered 2tb of data because of a hot swap issue in external raid cabinet.

Play2mefish : I followed your instruction and get a error message
here what I see :

When I click 'continue' I see a scanning list of my document. (So now I know my document are not lost or removed )
After the scanning is done The same thing happen again.
I can't access my file. As If I didn't do the user permission change

If it's just a user permission problem I would like to resolve it unstead of switching my file to another hard disk (that I don't have...)

That brings us to this, is the computer actually using this file as the swap file? That's what the pagefile.sys is and you can't delete it while it is in use. First thing I would do is to tell the system to use a different pagefile.sys. To do this do the following:
1. Right Click your my computer icon and goto properties
2. Click on Advanced System settings
3. Click on the advanced tab, and the click settings under performance
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then under the virtual memory click the change

On this window just make sure that the system is managing the pagefile, and if it is pointing to E: drive, then make changes so that it points to C: drive instead.

I would then boot to a cd (use the one recommended above by Cixoos, UBCD for Windows), and then delete the pagefile.sys off of the E: drive. And then reboot back to your Windows 7 and try to take ownership of the files again.

Also, how many users do you have on this system? Try logging on as the administrator, go here for how to do this:

Then maybe you can access the drive and reassign rights back to the other user ID. Let me know how it goes...

Your last advice worked. Trying logging on as the administrator worked
I tough I was already the administrator since that was writting in the user control panel. What it did is creating another user <Admisnistrator
And I simply put my file from my previous user folder to the new one.

I also used Ubuntu CD to remove the pagefile and other useless stuff in
E: and F: hard drive

But your other advice <virtual memory for Pagefile got me some trouble.
And I<m not sure
I tryed to changed the setting but it removed all RAM for the pagefile
Each time I was restarting my computer a error message appeared telling me the page file was too big. Each time I wanted to changed it I still get the same error message :
Windows created a temporary paging file on your computer because of a problem that occurred with your paging file configuration when you started your computer. The total paging file size for all disk drives may be somewhat larger than the size you specified.

OK, use a custom setting and use the recommended for the minimum and the maximum setting. See your photo here:

Click Custom Size, and in the initial size enter 6142 and for the maximum size enter 6142. Then click set and OK and you will be good to go!
