Hello so yesterday I found that when I booted my computer it would freeze after I logged into windows. I ran it in safe mode and found that when I changed the start up items I could reach the desktop. The last program I downloaded was Microsoft Office for school so I got rid of it. After playing around a bit I found that Steam would cause my computer to freeze as soon as I launched it. I thought okay just Steam is acting weird so I tried to download Microsoft Office again but it would not download after 30 minutes. So now I believe that my hard drive is breaking or corrupt. I ran the performance monitor related to the above but I really don't know how to interpret it. So my question is what else can I do? And if my hard drive has failed what hard drive should I buy that would be compatible with my current setup and be relatively inexpensive. Thank you for looking at this thread. I attached the system monitor info.

Edit...the system health report only saves for html for me. This is the first part.

Your disk is dying.
Backup your data on an external disk.

Buy a 128G for Windows and programs and a HDD for data. You will have the speed of a SSD and the space of a HDD.

For me, HDD must be WD Black or Gold

Thank you so much for replying its good to know whats going on. Would the above be compatible with my current set-up? And is it something I could relatively easily install myself?

You install and connect a SSD disk is like a HDD. On a desktop you may have to buy a 2.5 to 3.5" adapter to mechanically install on a the HDD bay.
You may clone the HDD to the SSD using Macrium Software | Your image is everything
As your disk is dying I recommend to do a clean install as some of your HDD files may already be corrupted.
