Hard drive wont let me format !

Hello , i have 1 ssd for running windows and 1 hdd for storage/games and i wanna format my hdd but it wont let me , When i try to format through My Computer i get this error ' Windows was unable to complete format'
And when i checked at disk management there was no format option available there , as you can see here :Gyazo - 5f48f8aa5f52803f57a85e72af69d66f.gif

Any solution for that ?

Looks like the SSD may not have been formatted correctly. In Windows 7 you should have two partitions on the SSD drive. It looks like one of the needed partitions is still on the drive you want to format.

Here is what my system looks like. Disk 0 is a 500GB SSD and two partitions for Win 7. Disk 1 is an SSD for Win 8.1 and Disk 2 is a 1TB Hard drive.

Set F paging file to "No paging file".: Computer - Properties - Advanced System Settings - Performance Settings - Advanced - Change

Set F inactive:
- run cmd as elevated (as admin) and enter the following
- diskpart
- list disk (make sure the correct one - should be 0, check size)
- select disk # (# as listed above)
- list part
- inactive

Try deleting now

Hmm looks like theres problem when try to inactive the disk , The first part worked great , my F disk is no more System , but now even though i can click the format option i am still not able to format .

Are you trying to make Partition 1 inactive?

From that list of commands, it looks to me like you'd have to do a "select partition 1" and then simply "inactive" after the selection of partition 1 is acknowledged.

You did a "list part", but not a "select partition 1".

You were right , my F drive is now inactive but i still cannot format , i get the same error

Look at the beginning of post 3 in this thread from GoKay; put the page file on C. Then see if you have better luck.

The disc 1 should be moved to be disc 0. Changing sata ports should do this for you.
Verify your boot order in bios after changing sata ports.

Page files should be on the C partition and of course in your setup, only C should be active.

Your system specs show W8. Is that correct?

You were right ! It worked ! My hard disk is now formatting ! I'll let you know if eveyrhing go smoothly as soon the format finish.
