Harddisk making virus scanning sounds, all the time.

Hey hope someone can help before I toss it out of the window.
When you're scanning for virus with something like AVG the hard disk make a speficic sound, my hard disk is now making that sound all the freaking time, and it's driving me crazy!
It has done it for a few days now and I can no longer just ignore that stupid sound
Fragmentation level is 1% and 11%
Is there any way to fix this or should I just buy a new hard disk?

I don't have a solution but when the issue is fixed i suggest getting windows 7 SP1

Go to task manager and look at what processes are running in the background and check its settings. You should also run a program like Malwarebytes in case you've picked up some nasties.
