Hi
Is this modification of the registry can be made on windows 7 64 bit :

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\AFD\Parameters:
EnableDynamicBacklog 1
MinimumDynamicBacklog 20
MaximumDynamicBacklog 20000
DynamicBacklogGrowthDelta 10

It was ok with XP but with seven ??

Probably wont kill you but also probably wont do anything. What are you trying to accomplish with it?

I'd have to agree with zigzag. Seems a bit unusual for any software company to make suggestions to modify registry settings if there are no problems being reported.

How To: Harden the TCP/IP Stack

Has not been updated since 2006. In Windows Vista the TCP/IP (Network) Stack was completely rewritten from the ground up, this same stack is in Windows 7. Advice for previous versions of Windows does not carry though.

Hi and thanks for answer.
If I understand well (sorry but my english is not perfect, but I prefer your site than the french one !:D), this modification in the registry is useless on windows 7 and there is no direct relation with the problem I had with Gdata soft ?
I think it was the answer from the Gdata helpdesk because they didn't know what to tell me, and I think they know their soft doesn't work properly on a 64bit system. The prove, they update the soft one week ago and no more problems !:sarc:
Sorry for my poor english again !

More likely they haven't really updated their software in general to handle the new stack implementation, and given Windows 7 does sort of emulate XP for some things, it probably made assumptions.
