Hi there,

I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on a HP Pavilion Laptop model dv9292eu by backing up my work and formatting the HDD.

The issue I am having is that I cannot seem to get the Nvidia Graphics driver to work. I downloaded the most recent driver for the Nvidia Geforce Go 7600 from Nvidia site and I get the blue screen so I have now uninstalled the driver and gone back to standard VGA.

I have also searched this forum and I came across the following thread which assisted me in the past with a Sony Vaio laptop :D:

http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/36593-nvidia-driver-convert-desktop-mobile-laptop.html

I followed the instructions outlined but I still get a blue screen on this HP laptop :(

I also get red/green vertical lines on the boot screen but it goes away when the "Starting" graphic appears with the windows logo.

I can still log into windows using the Standard VGA driver which windows installs but I would like to get the Nvidia driver to work.

I think there is a physical problem with the Graphics card but then why am I able to login to Windows.

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks in advance

I have a dv9720us and it has the Geforce 7150M/nforce 630M graphics using version 179.67 for windows Vista 64 bit drivers, because the Windows 7 64 bit are beta.

Try going to NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com and downloading the Nvidia driver from them, assuming HP doesn't have a driver for this. They modify the INF so that it allows laptop cards to be installed as well. Additionally if that doesn't work, try visiting the HP website for the Windows 7 drivers or if they are not available, then use the Vista drivers, which should also work.

@Darician - Thanks, I have tried the drivers from HP website and I still get the BlueScreen with an error message which has hex values and it said something about "nvlddmkm.sys".

The folllowing image shows the full error message:

I will look into this further and will try out your other suggestions.
