My hard drive has been split to C and D. Im running out of space in C but have heaps still in D. Can I go back to just having one drive. C. There are files on both drives.
Thanks :)

Yes.

One way would be to copy whatever is on D to another drive.

Then delete D. Then expand C to fill the space where D used to be. Then move the stuff you copied back to C.

This can probably be done in Windows Disk Management.

You might be able to shrink D by a certain amount and then add that amount to C, but that is more involved and might require a third party application. You would still have 2 partitions, but C would be larger and D would be smaller.

Please check this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/93322-partition-wizard-use-bootable-cd.html

Partition Wizard is an excellent free utility that will solve your problem, no ifs and no buts.

All you need to do is download the Partition Wizard ISO and burn it to a blank CD then boot into it and carry out any partitioning options you require.

When you've done that you just boot back into Windows. As you've discovered, Windows Disk Management is very basic in what you can do with it.

As ever, backup any data you don't want to lose before you start.
