have vista want to install windows 7 ultimate

Have a Toshiba A135-S4467 lap top, that according to the "adviser" windows 7 ultimate is compatible.
I downloaded a windows 7 program 32 bit, copied to a dvd, but when loading to the computer a message says
it must be compatible with Toshiba. Can anyone tell me how to get around the problem?
Note: My ultimate goal is to upgrade to windows 10, but there is no direct route to get there, from Vista.

When you purchased your Win 7 Ultimate Key it should have come with with the ISO to install ?

I did notice that model only came with 1 GB of RAM installed so You should get more RAM,

The "direct route" from Vista would have been to buy a Win 10 Pro license and just make a fresh install.

You may have to uninstall Toshiba proprietary software before doing the upgrade install.

Good info. I was able to install Win 7 Ultimate And Now to Win 10. Thanks

Once you get that done, then clean install Windows 10.

Windows 10 will only activate if you`ve used a legitimate W7 key.

Let us know how that turns out.
