Alright, here are my pc specs first: I5-2310, 8gb Ram, geforce 560 gtx, 450 watt psu. 1.5 tb hdd.

I am having an issue where my pc will randomly hang for a second or too, sometimes when something loads sometimes it just does it randomly, its really starting to worry me, I've scanned for viruses, and defragged my hard drive and this has not fixed it. Any suggestions what else it may be? Does it every 30-60 mins on average.

Thanks all.

Many things can cause this problem but lets start off with the obvious. You do not have enough power supply. Your video card requires a minimum of a quality 500W power supply. If it was my computer I would have a 650W or more Corsair or Seasonic power supply. Everything in a computer starts with a quality power supply.
Please fill in your system specs. You can use one of these to do it.

Since you seem to have a specific time interval of 30 to 60 minutes, many AV programs check for updates on about that same frequency. While checking they generally spike CPU usage and can impact other programs. Just a guess, but it has happened to me.

@Sir George, Hmm I don't think its the AV because this issue started a few weeks ago and I have had this pc for over a year with no other issues.

Check your system for things you have scheduled. I noticed in your previous threads you were trying to schedule things. When things are happening at a precise time some how they are scheduled by the owner operator or a program default setting. i.e. A scan, difrag, backup, update ect. One other thing I can think of is a infection that is calling home on preset intervals. What programs did you use to scan for viruses?
What anti anything programs do you have installed?

Work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to establish a Clean boot, test your RAM and HDD, check the logs for repeat errors and errors at time of freeze for clues to resolve, use the System Resources to check for solutions to Problems.

For the most part it seems to be when the hdd is accessed, so its probally something with my HDD, thankfully I bought a 1tb portable hdd to backup stuff I want to keep just incase my main hdd goes. I'll run some hdd tests, even in the windows 7 experence rating thing my lowest rated componnent was my HDD. Out if a cap of 7.9 or rather a max score of 7.9 here are my scores:

Processor: 7.4
Memory: 7.6
Graphics & Gaming Graphics(both have same score): 7.7
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9

I might have fixed it thanks to that Troubleshooting Windows 7 thing that you posted Gregrocker I decided to check task manager and notice some random task set to run hourly, it also made the thing that set it run increadbly slow when it ran, like everytime it needed to load something it'd hang. I'll keep you posted if deleting that task was the cause.

Siveria keep a watch on those scheduled items. Sometimes after a reboot they will start up again all by them selfs.

Hmm That lessened the occurance but it still does it. Seems to be when my hdd has to load something or other, happens mostly while playing a game. Actually thats the only time I seen it happen.
