I have a Dell Inspiron Desktop with Windows 7 Home 64bit. I have been having problems lately, so I decided to do a fresh install. After doing a fresh install, everything is screwed up! My desktop only shows the recycle bin and EVERYTHING Is huge, like I have it zoomed in. I have changed the resolution to the highest setting, but the icons are still big. I went back to try and use Dell Datasafe to restore to factory again, but it is no longer an option. Also, it is saying that I have no network driver. How can I fix this when I cannot get online? Can anyone please help me? Is there anyway to wipe it clean and start over without a Windows 7 disk? I cannot find my disk. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The way is you use another PC and download all the drivers for the PC then copy them via USB or DVD. If you go on Dells site enter the tag number and it will give you all the drivers for your PC

My uncle gave me a Windows 8.1 DVD and everything installed perfectly. However, it keeps turning the internet off. No matter what I do, it won't stay connected.

How did you do a fresh install with out the Win 7 disk?

Download the Iso from M$ using the down loader Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

Windows ISO Downloader
- Download the down loader (above)
- Run it.
- Chose Win 7 HP
- Burn the Iso or make a USB installation disk

To create a USB flash installation disk USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create - Windows 7 Help Forums

For the updates: MS releases SP2 for Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums

I tried the Windows ISO downloaded, but it kept messing up and will not complete.

I tried the Windows ISO Downloader, but it kept failing. I have tried several times to install Windows 7 from USB and DVD. It would install, but most everything was missing. Only the recycle bin was placed on the desktop and there was no network. Also everything was huge, like it was zoomed in. So, my uncle gave me a Windows 8.1 disc and everything installed great, but the internet won't stay connected. That is were I'm at now. I think I'm just going to order an XPS from Dell and be done with it. Thanks for all the help guys.

Now I understand.
When you install a OS, most of the time it doesn't find and install specific hardware drivers.
After installation ends, you must open device manager to find out witch driver is missing.
At this point, if you have the LAN driver and have access to the internet, windows can search for the appropriate missing driver.
On Win 7 the large icons means that graphics driver was missing.
On Win 8.1, the internet won't stay connected because of LAN driver.

Your easiest option to have Win 7 reinstalled on your computer is to do a factory recover (if your disk still have the factory recover partition)
