I was having some issues with my built PC. the largest of them was it would freeze and make audio loop incredibly loud noise if i was playing a game. I decided to reinstall windows 7 ultimate. after doing this the computer doesnt freeze but now any online video (youtube, netflix, facebook) stutters, and my performance is kind of shot. i was wondering if anyone has any advice.

You can try disabling hardware acceleration if using flash.

I'm curious bartarton.
Why did you choose Ultimate for your operating system to play games on your computer?

While playing a video in YouTube, right click the video - settings - un-tick Hardware Acceleration.

Or perhaps it is using HTML5, then you can try installing Flash Player.

My troubleshooter tab says the setting cant be changed

I used ultimate for the muti-processor control options
Can you elaborate?

  • Especially this "troubleshooter tab"? Is this tab part of of a third-party program? Processor power can be somewhat controlled by running msconfig >boot tab >advanced options.

  • Did you have a basic 7OS? Then installed ultimate?

  • What type of install was it? Clean, repair, Upgrade?

  • Was there a previous version of Windows; XP, Vista, basic7, on this machine before you reinstalled ultimate?

If you want real help from us you are going to have to fill in your computer specs completely, see: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html Then go to step #5 and automatically fill them in.

Even though you are not having BSOD problems I would like you to run a BSOD report: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html It will show a more complete picture of your machine, and will help us to understand your system. Make sure you have your system set for a complete memory dump, as shown here in step #8: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

Once your dumps are set, run the BSOD posting instructions. To post the results follow step #9 in the BSOD posting instructions.

My first instinct is to say you're having problems with your audio and video drivers but without knowing your hardware and other peripherals it would be a guess to try and solve this without the background information we need.

Found this on Tom's Guide website, unsure if it is exactly your specified problem but you can give it a go:

Check your Flash Player version from www.whatismyflash.com
See the latest version from Adobe http://www.google.co.in/url?q=http://get.adobe.com/flas...
If your version is outdated then download the latest one from Adobe

Now restart Chrome and go to chrome://plugins
At the top right, click the +Details
Under the Flash section, you should see 3 players installed.
Disable the pepflashplayer.dll and disable the gcswf32.dll player so that only the NPSWF32_11_4_402_265.dll player is enabled.
Restart Chrome.
