Without knowing the chipset of that board, it is hard to say, but it should be modern enough to handle basic movie playback (unless you were watching true HD content). You should make sure your chipset drivers are installed, and the latest drivers for the onboard graphics as well.

There are many things than can cause that problem, but there's one I have been noticed in windows 7 asosiated in some way to a wireless conection. Just to be sure it isn't it, are you usually conected with a wireless router at least when you are watching a video?

If there's no listing in the Programs and Features applet of the Control Panel, then you can remove the device from Device Manager, and then run Windows Update.

After removing driver and running updates, see how it goes. If you still have problems, download the driver from my link above. I always like to get the driver from the manufacturer when possible.

Where is the source 'videos' at? And have you tested those videos on another system?

Also, watch your Resource Manager, when you are playing the video, is your CPU looking like it is maxing out?

Definitely check back again with the Video drivers installed. Maybe also double check the Audio drivers if the audio is also sounding a bit weird along with the video.
