Solved HDD doesn't show up in windows

My mate gave me an old HDD of his, a Seagate baracuda 7200rpm 80GB. This disk had linux installed on it before the computer it was on fried. I have plugged it in, and although I can see the disk in a linux disk explorer, it does not show up in windows, probably because it is the wrong format. I have since tried to format it to HFS+ for mac, but that didnt work either. How can I now format this disk to NFTS (thats what windows uses right?)(for the time being) so that I can see the disk in windows?

Right click on "My Computer" and then click on "Manage." Next go to "Disk Management." At this point you should be able to see the drive in question. Now right click on the drive you want to forrmat and click on Format.

If you still can't see the drive go into the bios and see if it shows up in there.

It doesnt have a format option as such...but it does have the option to create a simple, striped, or mirrored volume. Do I want one of these? Thanks

OK, this is a trick that I do.

Pop in the windows installation disk. Then contiue utile you get to the installation part and click on custum installation and format it that way. It will let you format it.

Or use a live version of linix and use gpart. I like the way listed above.
