HDD partition turned RAW!!!

I'd also copy out data to another external.
Format the the drive.
Run full disk diagnostics.
Partition the way you want. The old partitioning is partly a legacy of your old laptop.
Transfer data back.

Works!

Try running the Partition Recovery Wizard in MiniTools Partition Wizard Home Edition Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.

It should be able to rewrite the missing partition info into the first sector and recover the partition.

Help here: Proceed to the topic Recovery with Partition Wizard: SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16GB in http://www.sevenforums.com/software...ive-turned-raw-partition-wizard-testdisk.html (In your case it will be the external HDD)
