Perform the following procedure:

1. At the bottom right of your screen click on the internet access tab.\
2. Open network sharing center
3. View the attached image and perform a connection diagnostic/repair connection

See if the driver has been corrupted or rolled back.

Well, putting Utorrent on pause seemed to increase the speed greatly, but it used to handle both web browsing and that with ease. Now, bleeah. Also, will try what you suggested, Adrian. (Also, Family guy Rules!)

I suspect the background program was hogging bandwidth.

As I understand the fileshare, depending on how big the pool of users sharing files etc. You do have the ability to adjust sharing and throttle speed. As I'm un-familiar with torrenz, I do remember the longer the program is up and running there is a tendancy to hog band width.

The Utorrent factor changes everything although you can adjust the download and upload speeds by right clicking on the little Utorrent icon lower right on the taskbar then adjusting the speeds of the d/l and upload until you have acceptable speeds for the rest of your applications.

In general you can't have more than 4 or 5 torrents going or it will reduce the speed of your entire network. Reducing the upload speed seems to make the download speed go faster but there is a limit to how many torrents you can run depending on your ISP imposed bandwidth.
