Solved Help .BAT files open in notepad instead of running

Please help me .BAT files are now opening in notepad instead of running like they used to. This problem just recently occured and up until then they were running fine. I have tried to change the default program but i dont know what to change it to. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

You can download and merge the bat option in the tutorial below to restore the default associations for the .bat file extension.

just an FYI. a lot of utility suites (tune-up, system mechanic, etc.) will change the default program for certain file extensions, to open with notepad, because they are a security risk. so if you use one of those utilities, dont use the "one-click maintenance" feature.
