Solved !!URGENT!! .bat files not running, opening in Notepad instead

So the title says it all, but I have even tried some regedit fixes. but under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\ there is no .bat folder! HELP?!

Just as a quick suggestion without getting into details since you say its urgent, try running the file BAT from this link http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html

Scroll down to the link that says "BAT" and run that then see if that fixes it.

I open and run that, but it just deletes the .bat folder in regedit!

Re-read the instructions it the tutorial. You download a reg file for the .bat extension, right click it, and Merge.

I just did, it still deleted the bat folder
