Well - I have given up on the W7 machine and gone back to my old Windows XP set up -- it connects to the internet without any problems at all.. LAN light going - no problems. I still can't figure out why the W7 one wont connect - maybe it is a hardware problem? Maybe it is a driver problem with the modem but whatever it is the LAN doesnt work... very annoying.

Did you ever go back to windows 7 and figure out the problem? i have the same issue with my pc?

Same here

I've installed windows 7 in addition to Vista in a dual boot config.
Vista connects to the router. When booting into Windows 7 it tells me to plug in the Ethernet cable. Has to be a Windows 7 config problem. Maybe the Ethernet adapter is not Win 7 compatible but checking compatibility at Microsoft does not trip it.
Guess I wasted my money and have to stay with Vista:cry::cry: Live is toooo short.
