Strange1. It downloads ok, but when I open it the WU Standalone Installer appears looking for installed updates. Nothing happens.
It's OK now.2. Yes, it turns On and Off ok.
Try these three things:
1.Reset transaction on allive system
Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as admin) and type:
fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\
next restart computer and try again WU
2.Reset transaction (more precisely) -hard method
run computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt
//what is "safe mode with command prompt" you can find here Advanced Boot Options //
and type:
cd %windir%\system32\config\txr
press ENTER
attrib -r -s -h *
press ENTER
del *
press ENTER
cd c:\windows\System32\SMI\Store\Machine
press ENTER
Attrib –a –h –s *.TM*
press ENTER
Del *.TM*
press ENTER
next restart in Normal Mode and try install updates again
if nothing still help let see you will be able to run Readiness Tool Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2
when it finish,find CheckSur.log file in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder and attache to post
