Hello, I know this is my first time posting on this forum but I have a serious error.

Yesterday I decided I was going to download Unbutu, it successfully installed I restarted my computer to find that it didn't tell me what Os to boot into (windows 7 defualt) so I decided to look around on the internet for a boot loader. I found one called Easy BCD I followed a tutorial and everything looked great. HOWEVER now when I start my laptop up, it tells me something about /boot/easybcd corrupt boot manager file 0x0000000093 sorry I can't remember the complete error. I've just reinstalled unbutu so I could get on the try without installing mode i'm pretty sure I backed up the boot manager file but when I access my hard drive it gives me:

No object for D-Bus interface. I really don't want to reboot my computer because it will give me the error again and I wont be able to get onto Unbutu again. I tried fixing boot manager by pressing f8 at startup it didn't work, I held it down, it have me a really horrible noise and the error just loaded slowly. I can't make a disk because I can't burn disks on unbutu if I remove the installation disc. Please help me!:cry::cry:

PS, I have a western digital blue 350gb HDD (laptop size)
My laptop is a Packard Bell: Easynote TM80
Customisations:
8GB RAM
New hard drive (see above)

What MIGHT work -- if you're willing to try it -- is that Ubuntu's default CD/DVD app is Brasero. IF you boot using their CD into a live desktop, and have an Internet connection, you should be able to use the Software Center to install Brasero.

Then, with the Ubuntu CD still in the drive, launch Brasero. This will load the app into memory.

Once Brasero is up and running, remove the Ubuntu CD and insert a blank CD. You might then be able to burn that CD using Braser -- because the app is running from memory, not being loaded from the CD.

Might NOT work (don't use LiveCD mode myself), but it's worth trying.

I belive I have already tried that (got stuck at the first thing) but I will try again, trying to figure how to install .deb files now.

Okay I did both of the links, both sucessful. I restarted and got a GNU GRUB menu I didn't realise it had a timer and it booted into the full version of Unbuntu, I did see a vista option there, is that Windows 7 too?

Why would you mess with WIn7 like that and not have a DVD or System Repair Disk? You'll likely need one to do the repairs if the Repair console i not still on the F8 Advanced boot Tools at boot.

Boot into Windows 7 DVD System Recovery Options or Windows 7 System Repair Disk to Mark Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved Partition (preferred if you have it) Active.

Then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Windows 7 starts and it's boot partition holds the System Active flags.

If this fails when System Reserved partition is marked Active, move the Active flag to Win7 partition itself and then try the 3 repairs again.

Be aware that sometimes GRUB can corrupt Windows 7 beyond repair when on the same HD. If problems persist I would delete it completely and then for any future Linux Dual Boots use separate HD's booted only via BIOS, or Dual Boot - Windows 7 and Linux - Windows 7 Forums

Again, I'd ask at the Ubuntu forums. They would be more familiar with your problem.

One of those mysteries

Be aware that sometimes GRUB can corrupt Windows 7 beyond repair when on the same HD. If problems persist I would delete it completely and then for any future Linux Dual Boots use separate HD's booted only via BIOS, or Dual Boot - Windows 7 and Linux - Windows 7 Forums

I suspect it is related to the wretched boot partition (that W7 creates, if you let it).

I always pre-partition my HDDs using GParted and as a result I've never had that boot partition created.
I've done several triple boot setups since W7 Build 7048 (added HDDs and rearranged the partition layout/sizes) and I've never had that problem occur (GRUB corrupting the bootloader).

I guess it is one of those mysteries, like how some people say certain programs crash constantly and other people never have any problems with them.

Interestingly there's been few reports here of GRUB corruption since GRUB2 was released, whereas we woudl see many per week up until then. So I'm close to changing that part of the post template I use for repairing Win7 after Linux removal.

The Dual Boot tutorial however is brand new and a work of Golden!

I did make a partition for Ubuntu, however, I think Ubuntu has installed on the same partition as Windows...

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Management drive map and listings:

1. Type Disk Management in Start Search box.
2. Open Disk Mgmt. window and maximize it.
3. Type Snipping Tool in Start Search box.
4. Open Snipping Tool, choose Rectangular Snip, click New, draw a box around full drive map and all listings.
5, Save Snip, attach using paper clip in Reply Box.
