my sytem files get corrupted after i had a rootkit problems. i have clean it using kasp**sky rescue disk and the rootkit has cleaned. then i try to install sp1 but it didn't work, it tells me component storage corrupted or something similar. i have read in in microsoft forum tell me that i need to reinstall but using upgrade option... i try it but ut didn't work, the installation failed. then i try to use sfc/scannow it won't work, even though i run in administrator mode. any solution except reinstall? i dont want to lose my savegames

i have windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

how long did you have the rootkit, or don't you know? Go back in time using "System Restore" to a date prior to infection.
