hi
im currently trying to upgrade my friends laptop for him. Its an Acer Aspire 3000 series.
I've upgraded the RAM to 2gig and installed windows 7 32bit and found all the drivers apart from the WLAN.
i was originally advised to get WLAN_Athroas drivers for it but cant seem to find the windows 7 driver.
Anyone know where i could get the Windows 7 driver or any other driver that should work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

We need to know what device is first.
Click on Start menu, write "device manager" select it, then look in the list of devices (expand the categories as needed) to find the device you need drivers for.
If it does not have any driver installed at the moment, should be an "unknown device" in the "other devices" category, or check the network adapter category anyway, as maybe the generic windows 7 drivers are operating it to some extent.

double click on the entry and on the new window select the "details" tab, and from the "property" drop-down menu, select "hardware ID".

Then you see some code in the white box below, rickclick on the longest one and select "copy" then you can search yourself with google for a driver for that hardware ID, or post it here for further assistence.

This works for any device.

EDIT: in case you only find drivers for XP for that device, you can try installing them in compatibility mode. This tutorial.
