When I click on "Devices and Printers" there's a little yellow triangle next to the icon for my computer. When I right click and click on Troubleshoot I get a message that says: "The driver for the network controller not installed. Install the latest driver." After I "apply the fix" (looking online for a driver) I briefly see a message that indicates the system is intalling drivers for devices, but then it says that the driver installation failed. I downloaded the latest drivers for NVIDIA nForce 630i from the NVIDIA site, and installed it, but I still get the "Network controller doesn't have a driver" message. I've tried to update the driver, but it never finds it online. Am I missing something here, like a driver? I downloaded the Pitstop software and scanned my system, and it says I have all the latest drivers.
It's a Gateway computer, and I did a clean install of Win 7 Pro, because it came with Vista HP. I'm a bit perphlexed. I have had some network problems in the sense that other computers on the network can't see my Windows 7 shared drives, but I can see theirs.
[Update: I went to the Gateway site, entered my serial number, and downloaded the chipset driver pack, and the network driver itself. When I tried to install the network driver after unzipping and extracting everything, by using "update" in preferences, I got a message that the driver wasn't found. After that I just ran the setup for the chipset which did an installation wizard. Still no network driver installed. What's wrong? (I did download the 64-bit versions of everything.)]
