Could somebody help me out with this. I have a few powerpoint (ppt) that won't open for my copy of powerpooint (I have MS Office 2003) I have tried downloading and installing Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack and it did not help with this. What are my options to ether get 2003 to read it or convert it so it can?

Hi there
2 options

(I assume the document is an office 2007 document -- if it's earlier than 2003 then your copy of office will read it OK).

1) Get Powerpoint / Excel / Word 2007 Viewer from MS download

For example Powerpoint

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...40-14e1-467d-8dca-19d2a8fd7485&displaylang=en

This will at least allow Read access into the document

2) With a bit of cutting and pasting open a blank 2003 document and paste into your open 2003 document data from the other window where you've opened the powerpoint document with the viewer.

An easier solution is to find a machine with Office 2007 installed - open the document and save as a 2003 type document -- for example if you have office 2007 installed at work.

Cheers

Found out the problem the files were corrupted....all of them. I found out when I tried to open them in office 2007 they did the same thing. A new copy worked.
