Hi guys I was wondering if anyone can help me here.

I turned on my pc this morning and was presented with a windows boot manager error, the error was 0xc000000e and the info was: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

I tried looking online for solutions and still could not get it to work even with Diskpart and bcdedit etc so I gave up and tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on another internal hard drive instead and then another problem arises about missing CD/DVD drives which never popped up when I first upgraded my Vista to 7.

So I was wondering can anyone help me here either by sorting out the 0xc000000e error or by solving the missing drives error please. I would personally prefer sorting out the 0xc000000e error cause that means that I get to keep all my old settings etc but if it comes to it I might need to reinstall windows 7 and start anew.

This is really causing an issue for me because this error won’t allow me to log into my pc and don’t even allow me to enter safe mode etc.

Thank you.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
