So, i have been having trouble uninstalling and updating Windows Powerpoint viewer 2007.

FIrst off, my computer has been stuck on 2 updates for office 2007 for the past couple months I have tried manual installation and that didn't work either. The two updates are KB982312 and KB981715.

When I try and uninstall office 2007 related software, The uninstaller fails and I get a message (see attachment)

Along with a few other issues (such as not being able to install photoshop cs5) this had led me to believe that I have a corrupted registry or corrupted registry permissions. I have tried numerous things but am at a loss at this point.

If anyone has any suggestions or has encountered this problem before, I would be very grateful for input.

Suspect this permissions problem can be solved by installing the updates as admin, the same with software installs.

Thank you for you reply, I tried the steps suggested in that link, but got stuck on step 6. because of the registry issue mentioned in my OP.

Ok, so my repair install resulted in a failure message. Looks like it might be time for a wipe and re-install of windows. Thanks for your help guys.
