help! website has altered our monitor settings!

Lets try to be fair to the Original Poster and try to solve his problems. One day we may be in his position and will be looking for help, too.

I think that if anyone had an answer to his question, they would post it, regardless of any digression.

Back when I was an active member of the Opera Forum, I vaguely recall some discussions that might relate to this, but that was long ago...longer than my memory tends to function.

Not that it has much to do with this, I can remember years ago, I was experimenting by entering random urls, just to see what would happen, and when I input hell.com, I reached a very strange website, that when I decided that I really didn't want to go into, a window suddenly appeared, saying that it was going to close the browser window...it did, without any interreaction by me. The point is that a lot is possible by a malicious website, that is not commonly encountered on the web.

Good point, about the evil sites. I suggest that everyone read the posts by our newest member Corrine. She is a security specialist and gives such important and vital information. I have known her (virtually) from another website for 10 years.

I am not a salesman by any means but when I finally purchased this software and started using it I was AMAZED at how many of the problems I was having on the internet just went away.

Attached is a screen shot of one of my configuration pages...you can see from this just how many different ways web sites can control your computer...I was unaware of most of them. I will not go on the internet with out this.

This version is completely compatible with Windows 7 32, I do not know about 64.

DPReview is a very respectable (and high traffic) site. I didn't find anything there that offered to change my resolution.

If there were liked site that altered user settings, I think they would want to know.

How was your issue resolved?

Because the problem occurred there doesn't mean that DPReview caused it. It could have been phishing.
