Help with BIOS settings prior to installing OS

I have a Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit computer. I am going to attempt to do a clean install of Windows 7 on this computer. The reason I'm not trying an in-place upgrade is because system has been running too poorly lately and I think I need a fresh install.

I'll be using a Windows 7 OEM DVD that's supposed to be new. I'm not a computer techy so I have some questions.

Since I will be wiping the hard drive of the Vista OS and using this DVD to install Windows 7, what should be the order of my BIOS? Right now it's 1. Samsung HD; 2. Oboard or USB CD-ROM Drive; 3. USB Device; 4. Onboard Sata HD (not present); 5. Onboard or USB Floppy Drive (not present).

Also, what is the least complicated and most successful method of entering my Product key for the Windows 7 disk and having it activated? I've read several scenerios. The seller of my disk said I should be given an option to activate online or over the phone and recommends phone; while another person I talked to said the phone process is a nightmare.

You do not have to make any boot order changes in the bios, you can leave the hard drive 1st, instead just use the 1 time boot menu key (Usually F8) watch the screen it will show you, usually at the bottom of the screen, just push the proper Function key to bring up the boot menu. Then use the arrow keys to move to your dvd drive, then just hit enter.

When you see the words "Press any key to boot from dvd" just hit any key on the keyboard. The install process will then start.

You have 30 days to activate windows, so you do not have to enter it during the install, there`s no rush.

All motherboards are different, your 1 time boot menu key could be F2, Esc, Del, F8, F10 etc, but when you boot the PC it should show you on the screen. It will tell you what key to push to enter setup (bios) and it will tell you what key to push to bring up the boot menu.

If there is nothing you want to save on the hard drive, make sure you delete it to unallocated space as shown in this picture, after you do that simply click next.
