Help with Downloading Win 7 into what partition...

It said it would take about 16 GB to do the system image onto DVD's but it finished on one disc. Is this right, or should I try it again?

And I was also wondering about the Reserved partition...how do I get a system image saved there so I could do the f8 option if need be?

The System Reserved partition should be included in the image by default since it holds the boot files.

It's best to use an external or another HD to store your image, in case you have a HD failure.

If you need to wait to get an external storage HD, then you can make a partition a little bigger than the size of the image at the end of your System HD to store the image, format it NTFS Primary in Disk mgmt then point the imaging utility to that partition to store the image there.

I tried doing the system image again and it saved on only one dvd disc...does this sound right? It said it could take up to 17 GB and the disc only has 4.7 GB...not too sure about this.

No, it should prompt you to insert another DVD.

In case my earlier comments weren't clear: DVD's are not a good way to save a Win7 backup image. Best to use an external HD or another internal HD. Until then you can make a Primary partition on your current HD to store image.

I must have overlooked you saying not to use the dvds. Thanks for the info again. I got it all done and did the system image figured out on my hard drive till I get the external. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I'm very greatful!
