Windows novice here. I have a Dell Optiplex 7050 that runs a Zeiss microscope that requires Windows 7 for hardware and software compatibility. The hard drive recently crashed and we are re-installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The Optiplex has a Q270 chipset with an Intel i7-6700 cpu.
The install went fine but the computer does not seem to recognize any usb drive that we plug into the ports. The BIOS recognizes the ports (usb 2.0 and 3.0) but I suspect Win7 is not recognizing the usb 3.0 ports. I might expect that, but I'm confused why the usb 2.0 ports aren't working.
Is there a step I missed on the re-install?
