In XP my files used 48G - when I went to Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium it went to 98!! I downloaded a disc space analyzer and it showed hiberfli.sys taking up a lot of room. I had originally set it not to sleep. I don't see any place to turn off Hibernate (I see others have found that not available either). I tried the run as administrator and then typing in the line that was supposed to delete it several times, rebooted, etc., but it is still there. If I do a search or look in Windows, I can't find it even though I have View set to see all files. I thought the software wasn't updating but my C drive is still taking up the same amount of space. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

I thank you so much but I tried option 1 several times before posting. I tried option 2, downloading the reg file and running it as administrator - the file is still there (I did finally find it under C instead of Windows). So I tried option 3, as admin., changing the registry - the HibernateEnabled was already set at 0. Again, no change when I rebooted! Very odd.

Success! I tried just deleting it and it said I couldn't, but I held down the shift key and it disappeared! I checked the disc analyzer and it isn't there any more. The used space is the same but I suppose I need to restart to see the difference. Many thanks!!!
