Hibernate Problem

After increasing the RAM on my notebook from 1Gb to 2Gb it will not waken from Hibernate. The notebook runs on Windows 7 Starter.
Can anyone help.

Make sure the RAM is seated firmly.

Also, to troubleshoot, restore the RAM to the original 1GB to make sure it works.

Hello Bill,

The hiberfil.sys may have gotten corrupted. See if disabling hibernate using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below, then enabling hibernate again may be able to toggle and reset hibernate to work again for you.

Thank you for your advice. I checked that the RAM was firmly installed as having upgraded desktop RAM and been shocked at the force necessary to bed it, I was unsure of the notebook's ease of insertion. It was OK however and the solution for me has been to disable Hibernate and re establish it as advised by Shawn.
